Ben Wilhelm, DBA
Ben Wilhelm brings 25 years of business and executive experience in talent management, operations, strategic planning and marketing. Prior to founding his own leadership practice, Ben was president of regional operations for a mid-market construction firm where he grew revenues from startup to $70 million in 10 years. Ben currently serves as EVP/COO of McFarland Construction, a Charlotte based commercial construction firm.
As an organization development practitioner, Ben supports individuals, groups, and organizations to achieve their best outcomes through executive coaching, behavioral and personality assessment, and leadership development programs. His clients include several large and middle market public and private companies.
Ben earned his Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from Belk College of Business at UNC Charlotte. He completed his Masters in Organization Development (MSOD) and Executive Coaching Certificate from the McColl School of Business at Queens University of Charlotte. Ben completed his bachelor’s degree and MBA at the University of Indianapolis.
Ben is certified in a variety of personality profile assessments with broad expertise in organization development. He is an adjunct instructor in the McColl School of Business at Queens University of Charlotte teaching graduate courses in organization development and organization systems change. He also facilitates leadership education and executive coaching through the Executive Leadership Institute (ELI) at Queens.
Ben serves on the board of directors at W.E. O’Neil Industries (ENR Top 100 Commercial Contractor) and advisory board of the Private Directors Association, Charlotte Chapter. Ben recently served on the boards and executive committees of Charlotte Preparatory School, Harris YMCA, and 24 Foundation. Ben also served on the board of his former employer where he was ESOP chair for six years.
